To use a quote from another source, follow this example from the http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_blockquote.asp

&lt is an html entity which stands for less than, and  &gt is for greater than to represent the < and > symbols/tags.

Browsers automatically indent blockquote elements.

On the other hand, q enclosed in <> defines a short quotation.

To mark deleted and inserted text using html tags, <del> and <ins> attributes are used

<del>abihlash </del> <ins>Abhilash </ins>

Wherein <del> attribute defines deleted text and <ins> is the inserted text.

In this case, the deleted or wrongly spelled name will be “deleted” while the inserted will be underlined.
